Chair of Machine Elements, Gears and Tribology

Student research projects and theses

Our offer:

We assign highly interesting and challenging topics for student research projects and diploma theses with great practical relevance in the following areas:

  • Simulation and calculation of machine elements (e.g. rolling bearings, chain drives, radial shaft seals) in multi-body simulation (with Adams, Simpack, RecurDyn) or FE (with Ansys, Abaqus).
  • Experimental investigations of machine elements (e.g. rolling bearings, chain drives, radial shaft seals)
  • New and adaptation designs of test benches and fixtures

Announced topics for student research projects and diploma theses are available here after login (rhrk account without uni-kl and @...):

Development of a pressure measuring system for the internal pressure of a worm gearbox

Extension of the manufacturing simulation of worm gears

Thermal simulation: Worm gearboxes in Abaqus
